To be frank Mrs. Lorde has stated something very obvious, but as said throughout the reading we just keep ourselves from progressing.  She pointed out how we would feel so much better if we just spoke out about what we think, even if it's just to ourselves out loud.  Yet when you think about it would be very stupid of people just to get what they want to say off their chest.  You would have so many people speaking, and when you want to be heard you won't be able to be heard.  Your voice would drowned out and we would just repeat the situation, but with a whole lot more of noise with all the voices.  Then people will start to become silent again.  Now you are just at the start of the cycle again and you feel hopeless, so you would try an action instead and that would lead to a whole other type of situation.
I do agree with what she said though.  You do feel better if you are just honest and blunt with yourself.  You also gain a whole new type of trust in and from people which can lead to some real change and disagreement.  With every great idea come a great downfall, I say this because it would be great to be blunt and honest, but then you hear everything you don't what to.  You also feel guilty about being so blunt with people that you wouldn't want to anymore.  Lets look at the positive a little more, there would be a change in your attitude with yourself.  You would start making the right decisions and that will allow you to change your life for the better.  Your relationships with certain people would become less toxic, you might ask for the things you want, and would get out of the things you dislike.  Now lets look at the negative things,  you will realize how much you dislike yourself or the people that are around you.  You would also hear all the things people don't like about you, and all the things you want but can't have.
To recap Mrs. Lorde's writing rings true about a lot of things, but the only problem is emotion.  When your emotions finally kick back in you realize you don't want to hear some of the truth any more.
