The problem that is being addressed in this meme is that currently there are people that are in the submarine that is under water. Technically you are not supposed to open a submarine unless you are above water, but in this situation they are not. I can tell that the submarine is still under water because of the way pikachu face looks. Looks like he is shocked and in distraught, which represents the people faces that are in the submarine. This is such a funny meme, but I can understand the meaning behind it because at the moment the submarine went under water, it shouldn't be open. Just from the meme itself, a story comes from it. What is portrayed from this meme is that everyone in the submarine knows that that person just messed up big time! It's funny because people on social media that see this meme knows exactly how they may be feeling and would make the exact same face because its over with from that point on. I honestly feel like memes matter so much in social media because it gives a relief to people. It gives a relief to people because they know that most of the stuff they go through or think of, they are not alone. People see that they are just not the only ones out here that may go through the same thing or think of the same situations. The author behind this meme knew the audience would understand that type of fear a person would have if this situation actually occurred. Maybe the fear, the excitement, the confusion, everything could fall into place when creating this meme and putting it on social media. The way that pikachu face on the meme is priceless because I could imagine if that was me, I would be making the same exact face in disbelief. Like wow we are really about to drown in here because someone wants to open up the submarine lol. That was the connection that the author wanted to make when creating this meme. He and/or she wanted people to put themselves in that type of situation to see what they would have done or what face they would have made right then and there. I really do love this meme.
